- Objective
- The objective of this study is to gain an understanding of people’s perception on rain water harvesting and the effects of rain water harvesting broadly, the following issues were examined.
- Understand the kind of rain water harvesting system installed
- Methods adopted for reuse of rain water
- Purpose for which the harvested rain water is used
- Advantages of rain water harvesting, and
- Problems encountered in the rain water harvesting system.
As per BWSSB records, there are 29,142 rain water harvesting installations in the city as of November 2011.A sample survey was conducted in households and non – domestic units that have implemented rain water harvesting to understand the above raised questions.
