CSD’s Pioneering Initiatives

  • First to bring out an Environment Report Card for Bangalore (2005 and again in 2012 with the partnership of IBM)
  • Set up an E-Waste Agency (EWA) to address the growing concerns of waste in the IT capital
  • Formulation of the Karnataka Climate Change Action Plan
  • First in India to be engaged to design a Food Safety Implementation Plan with a pilot project
  • First of its genre (sustainable development) to integrate ‘sustainable’ and ‘smart’ aspects leveraging technology through association with the global Smart Cities Council and launch Smart Cities Council – India in a focused endeavor to provide a vendor neutral platform to integrate and develop replicable smart cities. This marks CSD’s expanded strategy in sustainable urbanisation and foray into its next decade.

  • 2010 A lifestyle change approach initiative towards best water consumption practices adopted
